Me at 39 weeks......

How far along? Channing and I are starting our 39th week together.  She will be born TOMORROW June 14th via scheduled c-section (this will be my 3rd c-section)

Heartbeat? 151bpm

Total weight gain/loss: Yeah right. I'm not falling for this one. around 30 lbs...

Maternity clothes? of course... I refuse to buy anymore clothes, since this WILL be my last. I have bought some regular flowy clothes.... Frankly, it is SOOOOO hot (100 degrees) and I am so OVER being pregnant, while I was nesting last week I packed up all my maternity clothes.  I am so tired of looking at them!  So now I am down to non-maternity maxi dresses and some nike stretchy shorts and tanks.  It is not real pretty.....
Stretch marks? No, using my awesome lotion that has kept them away the last 2 times, worked this far!

Weird Things Pregnancy Does to My Body: I am having contractions off and on all day, I spend alot of time in bed.   Sleep is hard, I have like 8 pillows.  poor craig :)
Sleep? my mind is racing and I am thinking of all the things that I can/need to do before baby comes.  I have had to take benedryl to sleep.
Best moment this week: Giving Landon and Pressley gifts from Channing.  Channing wrote special notes on each item on how she treasures her big brother/sister and what each gift represents or means. Pressley got a big sister bucket that had a big sister toolbelt (cute apron with with wipeys, paci, baby toys) so she can help with Channing.  She also got a big sister bracelet, some books (read to Channing), stuffed animal (give lots of hugs kisses), shirt, princess nightgown (so she can show Channing how to be a princess like Pressley is)  .   Landon got a DS game (Channing can't wait to watch Landon play), books (he wants to teach Channing baby sign language), lego puzzle book, sidewalk paint (to draw special pics while Channing is in hospital).
Movement: Channing is quite the mover and shaker.  At this point, there is no more room and she has decreased fluids.  At the doc appt today, we said she is SO ready!
Food cravings: Strawberries & salads (for those that know me, know that I hate veggies
Gender: I love how pink is my world.
Labor Signs: contrax have been painful for the last month, basically have them all the time, but they get worse in the evenings.  Nothing steady.
Belly Button in or out? in the middle- but does not stick out of my shirt.  My belly is really not that big this time (I was much bigger with last 2).  People are constantly commenting on how small I am for being full term.
What I miss: oh where do I start??? Looking forward to NOT being pregnant this summer!

What I am looking forward to: holding my sweet baby and kissing her sweet head.
Milestones: Channing is now the size of a watermelon and weighs in at almost 7 pounds!

EVICTION TOMORROW!!!!

baby must haves

This being my 3rd  baby, I know what to use and what NOT to bother with!

what to NOT get:
-Wipes warmer
-bottle sterilizer or warmer (under the water for a few seconds does the trick)
-bassinett (just use the pack n' play), you use for such a small amount of time, would not waste the money
-You will get TONS of blankets, WAY more than you could ever use!!!

-You will get WAY too many size 0-3 clothes, try to exchange those for largers sizes. You will find that you will not get much of the bigger sizes, so exchange the tiny clothes when you can. Even without a receipt you can exchange at carters or target.
-mobile- while it was very cute, did not do either of my kids any good.

Must haves:
-swing
-vibrating seat
-jumparoo or exersaucer (after 4 months)
-TONS of bibs
-diaper genie (for us) was a lifesaver
-really good diaper bag, I like the bigger the better.  Especially if you have more than one child.
-sophie the giraffe- toy
-MOST important item was the medela pump in style breast pump (This allowed me to not give up on breast feeding given tons of difficulties).
-nipple shield- this was A HUGE life saver for me, when nursing got painful, helped me keep going.  Also nice if you are well endowed (as to not feel like your breast is going to over take baby's head).
-good nursing bra and tanks (I LOVE the glamourmom tanks personally, especially the LONG ones).
-Halo sleep sacks (you will need at least 3 for each size until they are a year old)
-boppy
-Dr. Browns bottles are the best EVER (these do have different size nipples for flow)
-nuby toddler cups
-Podee bottle-best invention ever- this is a bottle that baby can use to drink without holding.  Must have if you have multiples
-little side snap shirts (to use until belly button falls off), onesies will irritate it.
-womb sounds- whether in a teddy bear or a cd player.
-soother (waterfall or rainforest) both my kids loved this and used it until they were 3!!

Diapers: I found with a boy huggies worked much better than pampers.  With my girl either worked fine

Memorial day weekend

Well, now that I am off of bedrest (WOO-HOO!!!) we attended 2 pool parties this weekend.  I mostly sat and watched..... but on the 2nd day at the end of the night, my body was screaming at me!!!  I was having contractions every 5 minutes for 3 plus hours.  I really DID NOT want to have this baby on memorial day weekend.  I tried everything to relax and calm down, after midnight I finally fell asleep.  I woke up throughout the night with contractions, but nothing regular.  So today I sat and did little.  I would really like to have this week to hang with Landon and Pressley and get to do stuff with just them before the baby comes.

On the baby front- I am ready!!  Nothing else to do.... everything is put together and ready for lil bug.

School is done, my room is packed up and cleaned out.  I still have to turn in my key to the principal, but that is it.  I am officially unemployed......  :(

I am very excited about Summer!  Landon and Pressley are booked solid with Summer camps (better than them being stuck in the house with a newborn).  Craig's mom flies in from Australia on June 18th.  She will be here for 5 weeks, we are SO excited to have her here and will definately need the extra help.

I do have a neighborhood girls trip at the end of July that I am excited about.  It is just 2 days to L'auberge in LA.  Fun, but not gone for too long away from baby.  Then in September my brother has his wedding reception on Labor day and then Craig and I have our 10 year anniversary trip to Mexico with friends.  Life is good!  Feeling very blessed!

how cute is this pic of Craig & Press???

36 weeks update

Went to the doctor this week and this is my last week on bedrest!  He set the repeat c-section for June 14th (flag day).  Unless, she decides to come earlier- then we have to rush and do the c-section right away.  The doc was concerned that I have lost 6 lbs in the last 2 weeks.  Not sure how that has happened as I have done nothing but sit in bed.  My heartburn is constant and miserable and I have very little appetite.  I have been forcing myself to eat though.  The doc is having me get an ultrasound tomorrow to make sure little girl is okay.  She is moving great, so I am not worried.

I went up to school today to read my kiddos a book and tell them goodbye.  It was sad and I will miss those sweet children.  I have loved teaching 4th grade this year!
